Ultimate Hockey presented the latest development of Nyro in Olten, Switzerland, showing how the high-performance playing surface can create more opportunities to practice and play ice hockey throughout the year.
Around 140 guests from national associations, the sports industry and other organizations attended the first public showcase. With the support of EHC Olten, players tested Nyro under real ice hockey conditions, including skating, acceleration, edge control, stopping and puck handling.
Nyro is designed to complement existing ice hockey infrastructure by creating additional playing time for youth and amateur players, professional teams, coaches and game officials.
With no water required for ice production and no active refrigeration, it can also reduce infrastructure and operating requirements. Real ice remains at the heart of ice hockey.
Nyro adds new opportunities to bring 3x3 ice hockey to more places and make the sport accessible throughout the year.
Together with the first Breaking the Ice event in Innsbruck, the Olten showcase marks another important step in the development of 3x3 ice hockey and the Ultimate Hockey ecosystem.
